My Rating (out of 5): ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Before I regard this book merely as a work of fiction, this book was first a lecture in human psychology, a 350 paged ride in classical philosophy and a bible to hedonists and sybarites. I hear that this book was not well-received at the time of its release but Oscar sensibly put it best by saying that “The books that the world calls immoral are books that show the world its own shame.”

I feel that one read through this book does not afford one the chance to grasp the words of wisdom Lord Henry has to offer or the countless reminisces Dorian Grey himself allows us to be part of. As a matter of urgency, I need to buy the Paperback version of this book for how best to grasp the beauty of Lord Henry’s rejoinders than by feeling the weight of his words on one’s fingers.

That this book was amazing is but a tip of the complimentary iceberg in the frigid waters of classical literature.
